ok guys, im going to be running an e3 intake, e316g and a bbk 62mm tb. my question is about the size of my piping. i know that there is an advantage to oversized pipes before the turbo, but after the turbo is where i get fuzzy. given the size of the throttle body, are there any gains to be had...
here's a crazy idea. what if i cut the flange off my intake manifold, opened the tb side up and had a larger flange welded on; one that allowed a larger tb? just trying to get the best of both worlds. My buddy welds professionally so i can get this done for cheap/ nearly free. would it be worth...
i hate you...in the best of ways. i want ALL of it. i never planned on doing half of these upgrades but with the care that goes into all these projects how could i not? free lancers like you make these cars a labor of love.
Thx for the reply guys. Ill probably have to make one. Finding a usable shield in Michigan is proving impossible. Any idea what the thickness of the metal is? Anyone have any pics of a custom tank shield?
Can't really find and answer to this. When you guys did your awd swap, did you use the gas tank sheild? I can't find one intact enough to use. Is it necessary for the swap or is it purely a safety thing? If i don't use it, do i need to shim anything to install the rest of the parts?
Just a suggestion, we need a searchable database that catalogs wheels that do/don't fit with each of the different mods. obviously it would have to have full wheel description and anything done to get them to fit if possible. i realize it's easy to find if the popular wheels fit but obscure ones...
old abs systems suck. new systems have come a long way as far as feel but i still dont like it. im going to pull all that stuff off. get that battery out of there too
So I've been reading threads about tuning for milage and have a question. Does having more sensors help you squeeze out realistic results? I'm asking because I'm gathering parts for my build and want to be as prepared as possible. I will be switching to speed density and have read the faq page...
These look incredible. Are you doing individual orders or full group runs? I'm doing an awd swap so everything is all apart making these super convenient and "cheap" insurance. If you don't like/want to talk shop "on-thread" shoot me a pm.
Not sure if this is the right section for this but I figure I'll give it a shot. I've tried some searching here and on google. Has anyone done anything with steel tube for vacuum lines. I only ask because I have the bender and leftover line of a good i.d.. Pics would be great. Thanks in advance.
I'd get ahold of FP and see what they think. If it was a year ago they might work with you on fixing it. Plus if they do fix it they might warranty the weld work. No guarantees but it couldn't hurt.
Thx for the replies guys. I'm rolling around idea for some sort of custom exhaust but I'm not sure how the orginal awd exhaust actually lays out. I realize its really similar to the fwd.
