I've been having the idle surge/low output issue on my 2g. I found this through a post right here on tuners and am thinking about ordering one for my 2g.
Just an idea for you...
Use ceddymod evo 5/6 for ecu selection in evoscan.
I don't think you'll be able to log boost using the stock mdp
You need to open the big maps rom from the rommetadata folder with ecuflash using the folder icon in the upper left corner. If it's not there you may need to get it from ceddy if it's...
I believe your questions will most likely be answered. Some newb questions may be met with those that huff and puff about using the search or not enough info given.
It seems like the arent many people using ecuflash
Wondering what could cause my timing advance to keep jumping to 5*.
I just switched to SD
FIC 1220, HY35, hks 264/272, egr delete, old tps but works fine as far as can tell in the logs.
lb/min is also way off but I'm unsure if that would throw off the timing advance.log attached
I had done all that you were questioning about except flashing with the SD specific ROM. Sometimes it's the very basic things that get you.
Now I'm running on SD.
Thank you
With ecu flash open, Ceddy Mods, Version and Extras Info.

Big maps = Y

Boost axis = N
Boost control, cyclone = NCeddy Mods Setup Bits
All mods off (for debug only)= 1,enabled??
I dont ever remember changing this "all mods off"

Well I turned off the mdp code in the periphery bits section of ecu flash and that issue is fixed but now I'm have the same issue as ghost.
Seems like nobody uses ecuflash anymore
I keep getting a maf code when I unplug the maf sensor. The afr also goes down to 9 and the car won't idle.
I've been logging the map sensor and I've got everything else ready to switch over.
I'm wanting to switch to SD so I recently installed an omni 4 bar map sensor and now I'm getting an mdp malfunction dtc.
I followed ceddys instructions on install aa far as map calibration goes. Is the something I'm missing?
For those of you innovate lc1 users bosch #17014 is a genuine replacement wideband sensor. The mtx-l on my bike uses the same sensor.
I think from now on I'll only use the mopar combustion chamber cleaner.
Who doesn't like snake oil?
While in auto tech school I was introduced to upper cylinder cleaner by Mopar. It was taught that it was a sound product. Seafoam is supposed to be very similar so I use it occasionally. I have not tested or confirmed the results of seafoam so I cannot comment on the...
Like the title says I believe seafoam damaged my lc1 o2 sensor.
Yesterday I used seafoam to clean my intake and cc by introducing it through a vacuum line. I've done this many times on different vehicles but this was the second time I used it on my lc1 equipped dsm.
The first time I used the...
You can't make the cam give you numbers. lift, duration are in the cam profile. What you can adjust are things like valve overlap/LSA, valve opening/closing timing which is done with adjustable cam gears. There are no cookie cutter specs or magical numbers for cam degreeing sometimes you have...
Has anybody used one of these? I'm thinking about cutting the Mitsubishi flange off and using a t3 flange for an hx35.
I would like to turn it into a t3 divided manifold but it looks as though the runners are in the wrong position.
Please share your thoughts on why this would or wouldn't work...
If you decide to "discard the block" send it my way I need something to stick this 100mm crank into without the down time of rebuilding the engine that's in the car right now.
Use a dial indicator to measure end play. If out of spec you can try replacing the bearings. Cut cranks are ok to use if done right but those journals look like they could be kind of rough. From the info given worst case you would need new bearings and crank.
I don't understand why you would...
EricTande. Thank you sir.
After a 4.5 hour drive the fan is ok but...
I'm stuck on the side of the road with a broken cv axle. I'm waiting for the trailer to arrive.
My destination was a 6 hour drive, didn't quite make it lol.
@chrysler kid do you know of kit/part numbers for o2 housing arp hardware? I know I'm being a lazy ass for not searching. Just wondering if you knew off the top of your head.
I do have arp and extremepsi mls gasket for turbo to manifold.
I ordered two o2 housing gaskets from extreme and I'm...
I have the heat shield for the stock exhaust manifold. 02 housing is aftermarket with no heat shield. There was an exhaust leak where the 02 housing meets the dp but the section of fan closest to the leak wasn't melted. The other fan flows enough air to keep it cool so I didn't notice right...
Is anybody else having trouble with melting fans? This the the second fan that has melted. First the oem fan with a 16g, then this with an hx35 with a bolt on bep .55. Any suggestions? I saw a member on here that put a blanket on his hx40 housing that I might copy.
Just looking for other ideas...
The big maps will increase that limit with no other modifications. You can manually change the last couple of columns on the fuel and timing maps I personally decided to pay for the big maps.
Ceddy mods has 1 and 2 byte load available you just need to check the box in evoscan.
There are a...
For a short term solution I removed the outer honeycombs from the maf and unscrewed the set screw on the bottom. That dropped the max load to around 270.
I believe that I should not be overrunning the 318 load with the mods I have. I know it's been a while since I started this thread but I have...
Hi, sorry for all the newb questions lately.
I'm wondering if anyone has had the same problem as I have, and if so what the correction would be.
While looking at my last log 1 byte load Dropped from 318.75 to 2.5 while 2 byte load was reading 320 to 324.68.
2 byte load stayed steady But 1 byte...
No cats Were hurt during the process.
I had downloaded the roms onto a flash drive and for some reason I didn't pay attention to the other roms in the download.
I now have a new problem with 1 byte load values dropping near zero while 2 byte load seems to stay accurate.
While 1 byte load is...
I flashed ceddymods sd with big maps to the ecu and now the cat won't start. I set the injector scaling and latency before flashing.
When I turn the key I get clicking noises from behind the dash and the cat fires but won't run. Evoscan wont connect either. I can flash the basic ceddymods with...
I paid for ceddymods big maps the other day with no response so far.
Is this normal?
I would really like to continue tuning my car up but evoscan is logging load greater than 160.
I realize I can change the last few columns but I would like the resolution of the large maps.
It sounds like you need to stir/shake up the paint you have. I have done what you described before. After the paint (imron) didn't set up a couple of hours later I reopened and stirred the paint, I found a thick layer at the bottom. I mixed the paint very well and the problem was solved.
Valve springs need to be replaced when they start losing pressure at a given height.
Spring pressure is usually checked at installed height and Valve open height.
Its best not to wait until they break to replace them.
Like you said before degree your cams and watch piston to valve clearance.
A thicker head gasket would also be a good idea with that high of compression.
I think your headed in the right direction
Research Ecuflash since you stated that you have a 98. You should have a flashable ecu and all you need to start tuning is an openport 2.0 cable, evoscan and ecuflash.
Ecuflash is a free download
Evoscan is about $25 if I remember correctly
Openport 2.0 cable is $160 I think
If your refering to the recent classifieds post *manual/awd swap* yes that should be all you need. Most people are wanting to swap to an auto setup to handle more power.
You should be able to send the seller a pm. There is a blue and black word Bubble just under the sellers name use that link...
