A quick update. I installed the Summit Racing seats and modified them to fit a set of stock manual sliders that I found at the junkyard, so I can raise and lower the front and back. I had power seats and wanted to get rid of that extra weight. They look good. It's not a perfect match, but I'm...
Oh, no this is actually quite the opposite. No grinding, brackets, swapping knuckles, or anything of the like required here. The purpose of the spacer straight from the website is "The hub-centric adapter spacer mounts between the rotor and the wheel hub to perfectly center the Mustang rotor in...
The glass guy I worked with said it's just one of the standard universal trims and that any glass installer should have it. I can ask for the exact size and if he knows the product name/number, but it's nothing special.
Well I got the front CTSV brakes on. This swap is extremely easy. All was good, my old 17x8 +35 cleared just fine! The bad news. My new 18x8.5 +35 did not clear at all, and I scratched some of the powdercoat off the calipers when I spun the wheel and it dug right in :banghead: . I did my math...
Yes sir. The flooding has been rough and I'm bummed we can't roll race.I will definitely be there though. I'd like to earn a VIP spot and win some bling!
I searched everywhere for almost a year looking for a used set of Advan RG3's in the spec that I needed. Overseas, you name it. Considering those are 600 a wheel brand new, I just couldn't justify that cost, so I chose these. They somewhat mimic the RG3.Avid.1 AV26 18x8.5 +35 on 245/40.They...
I had tried to do as much as I could for the paint on my own, but it needed help from an expert. I had the car fully paintless dent repaired by a friend and then paint corrected and sealed. I will need to repaint the rear bumper soon, but she's looking pretty decent on the new shoes.Time to...
I'm stoked to finally pick up the CTSV front calipers. They look amazing, but will be PC'd match the rears. Off to get black chromed they go. Here are some pics out of the box. It's hilarious how large these are if you compare a stock front caliper next to it in person.
Drove this thing to Powercruise in Brainerd, Minnesota. It's a great event if you've never heard of it, but will be shooting for Proving Grounds next year. I straight up had never driven this thing for more than a 2 hour road trip. This was a combined 20 hour trip by the end of it. No trailer...
It has been quite some time since I have updated this thread, so here is what I have been up to so far. This is the last look that the DSM had in 2018 and I was ready for some changes.First things first. The hood had rock chips beyond repair, the drivers sideskirt was hurting, valve cover...
Appreciate it man! Yeah you definitely have, I've been there every year except 2018. There aren't too many DSM's that roll race so I try to be there to represent. If you see me next time say what's up!
It's been a long time since I've posted an update, but figured I'd let you guys know I'll be starting to get DSM content out on Youtube if you want to follow the build and other antics there.A buddy of mine has the exact same 98 Barcelona GSX, but with a much larger turbo. We just got it on...
JM1080, I am having this exact same problem on a E85 450 Walbro Pump. Except I actually had it get so hot it melted a section. Was the solution one of those listed above?
I've ordered plenty from ECMlink throughout the years with great communication, but I'm just wondering if anyone has been in contact with him recently or personally knows him?I ordered a V3lite to V3 upgrade last Tuesday. I had contact with him a couple days before I ordered mentioning it...
Quick Update:Participated in the Ice Cream Cruise (car show and racing event at local racetrack) here in Nebraska last weekend. Surprisingly I placed in the Top 50 for the car show. There were over 500+ cars there, so it feels good that a DSM can still be appreciated. I also was one of few...
Before my current setup I was in the same boat on pump. Do you have E85 in the area or interested in switching? Making the switch has been the best thing I've done. That is, if you are looking for more room on that setup.29lbs with just 10 degrees at peak torque and 17 up top on a HTA68 style...
@GST with PSI - Thank you for the quick replyYes I do need to bump up the injectors. For the time being I saw Gofer bumped up the FP to 55 when they tuned and it looks like he used that until he went bigger. What drawbacks are attached with this exactly? Trashing idle in what way?Could you...
Tried finishing up/dialing in the tune for the most part. Looking to see what advice experienced guys have on where to go from here. Back to back logs are attached. 3 knock, one clean. No AWD dyno near me, so it makes it difficult to have any sort of benchmark and I completely understand if you...
Went for a photoshoot. Was rained out, but we made the best of it and I actually like the wet shots. Something different :dsm:Will be going back out for the sun/sunset shots. Need that real Barcelona color to come out.
Well, glad to know that's BS information. Thanks.
Yeah I don't get it. I have a brand new stock fuel filter I can swap on. Where to do you fill up at? I go to the Buckys on 84th near W Center and the Kum and Go on 144th and Q.
Hm, that's odd. I'll have to see what happens. Curious as to why that would happen? I switched to the fuel lab filter to avoid that exact issue because I read about the element used in the stock fuel filter getting eaten up by E85 over time.
Quick rundown on fuel side.New Fuel lab Filter 818 with -6 AN lines. Stock lines from the tank
New Walbro 450lph E85
Edelbrock/SX AFPR with -6 AN lines to rail. (It has been tested good)
1000 ID Injectors hardwired in, not plug and play adapters. So this is the scoop. Switched to E85 last...
Thank you man I appreciate that! I don't plan on selling the car as I don't need to, and won't get enough out of it to warrant that. I have a permanent place for storage so it's not a concern for me. They just keep getting more and more rare.I'll post bay pics when I get the chance, it's...
I thought it was time that I finally create a build thread. I'll give a quick history of how I got the car, it's current condition and progress, and plans for the future.I was a massive F&F fan as a kid, and the eclipse was the car I wanted when I saw the first movie. As I neared the age of...
Yes, MTX-L and still on MAF.Bumping this. I really would love someone that knows E85 tuning on DSM's very well and could show me a few tricks that I don't know.
Yeah I'm mostly out in Omaha and sometimes Lincoln as well. The weather is starting to get nice again so I'll be driving around. Shoot me a PM with your # if you want to cruise around sometime.
I have the same sensor and down-pipe placement and have been on E85 for a month, randomly would get E8 error but has since stopped. Not sure why E8 disappeared, but I still notice the AFR's to be erratic at idle, although it's still at 14-15. It was very smooth before on pump, not sure if this...
Have the same issue. Replaced the fuel filter with the fuel lab setup. Running pump gas to get rid of injector goo if there is any present and then will put back in E85 and let you know how it goes. Nothing changed on my setup as well so I would not be surprised if my probably never changed 17...
As the title states I am in need. The Ice Cream Cruise is coming up fast and I'd like to see what the time slip says. Not sure if there are any hidden locals out there that can help, would be willing to make a trip out of town as well. I am not well enough experienced to get a solid tune setup...
Acura TL Type S 04-08. Can be had in great condition for around 10-15k in my area. Solid amount of power for a DD, 290hp. Roomy and to me is a very great affordable entry level "luxury" (that that lightly) car. Great sound setup, and the 2007 Type-S has an even more updated sporty interior...
Haha my valve cover is cracked too, pooling oil like crazy. Good group of Dsm buddies I have in Omaha if you're new here. I'm pretty similar to that setup, minus some things like the SMIM and I'll be E85. Used to go to 3D for tuning all the time, have someone else now for E85 but Chad had been a...
Going to be running E85 here soon. In the market for injectors so if any of you want to get of your 1000cc range +- set of injectors let me know. Also my valve cover is cracked, previously thought my oil cap wasn't sealing, but it's just been pooling from the cracked area under crankcase...
I run 17x8 +35mm Drag Dr-31's on 235/45/r17 and they fit the fender well perfectly, no poke. They are flush with the body lines. The rear fender lip will need cut for me and I'm not even low. The bumps are enough for it to cut into my tire.
I have a solid amount spraying out of the oil cap. Compression is 155 across the board. Oil cap + new gasket, have not doubled up gaskets. I need to replace the O ring gaskets as oil is getting into 2 of the wells but that is just recently and besides the point of the air pressure that is...
Our setup is the mostly the same minus my Delta 272's, and FP 18psi Internal Wastegate. I do most things myself but I hadn't ported a turbo, and it was brand new at that. Took it in to get it completely ported. Tune stayed the same but it fixed all spool issues. No more 6k full spool, but not...
I'm a huge Prosport fan myself, great price/product. I run the Innovate MTX-L Wideband, but everything else is Prosport. The Evo Series gauges look great.
I have a Td05 Billet 20G as well with a FP 18psi internal wastegate. Same mods except for BC272. I see full spool at 4200 also, stumped as to how people are getting 3700. Not really sure what the cause is. If you end up lowering your spool times from changes let me know!
Hey Kyle, I am bringing this back because I wanted to clarify what products you used and how they are holding up. After everything was wire brushed, what type of brush on rust converter did you use? Also was it just a brush on black paint or was this another type of rust paint? I am about to be...
