For sale is my 1991 Eagle Talon, AWD manual trans. Like the title says I bought it from the original owner and it has 45,225 miles. I have all paperwork. Stock engine down to the OEM air filter and silencer. I did upgrade to -6AN fuel feed from tank to rail nust because I found it easier to work...
I have the cts brembos with evo 8 wheels. The wheels barely fit. I had to really spend a ton of time figuring out wheel weight placement to avoid contact with the caliper. However, these brakes are awesome but you have to upgrade the master to the 3g for it to work properly. My car goes to...
You don't need to remove any mounts except transmission. You have to raise it very close to the pressure plate and have it rotated to the correct angle or it won't go. You'll hit the end case on the body etc. I've done it by myself at least 10+ times, sometimes I've had the same issue as you but...
Someone bought that business. I had to pester the crap out of him however once I finally talked to him, he was very nice and I got my part. I think he's a one man show judging by things.
We were able to hold it at a speed that keeps the noise happening while on the lift. On the road I can only get it to do it while decelerating. Sorry if it's hard to hear and sorry for my stupid voice but it's really obvious under the car. Hope this helps.
I have the same noise and my drivetrain is completely new. My car is stock save suspension and brakes and drivetrain. My car has 44k on it and it wasn't there with stock clutch/flywheel however I have the highest tier synchro trans build from TRE that was put in at the same time as the south...
Strictly Performance. Also +1on the 3g MC. Besides my brembos up front w/ SS lines, I have brand new calipers and everything else including lines and hoses all the way around. It's on my stock 1g MC and it's terrible. Don't even bother testing it. Although I wouldn't say it's unsafe, it's...
I have that exact setup. CTS Brembos with 13" rotors and a 5mm spacer to center the disc. They clear no problem with my evo 8 wheels but wheel weights are an issue. You'll need to put the 2 wheels that take the thinest (least) amount of weight up front. In the case that all 4 wheels need thicker...
He's correct. If you have an evap code you can clear the DTCs and keep the tank above 3/4 and it won't run the evap test ever. You could also keep it below 1/4 but that could hurt the fuel pump if you're too low on fuel for too long. I got many different cars with evap codes for small leaks -...
This isn't a thing. I am a new york state inspector and you can't get a waiver for readiness. We don't "decide" to give you an emission pass or fail. It's built in to the machine. You can only get a waiver for spending a certain amount of money on a check engine dtc without it being resolved...
Cool.Just go get it professionally evac'd and recharged instead of randomly adding and subtracting freon and then trying to guess if you have a charge or component issue. Just pay the 100 bucks to have someone with a real machine evac, leak test and recharge it to spec. Then you'll have a...
Does the compressor cycle on and off or run non-stop? You pressures are too low for 90* ambient temp. What do the pressures go to at 2k-3k rpms? If a 2G guy could chime in, I am almost sure the refrigerant capacity is 26oz.
The dealer I referred to was a mercedes dealer. I also worked for chrysler (same capabilities). If you plan on just bringing the rims/tires in without the car any dealer will work (still bring your VIN and mileage). Although they may look at you like you have 2 heads, a BMW dealer or Mercedes...
Having worked in service departments for 11 years, if you're truly concerned, go to the dealer. They handle more expensive wheels than the 20 year old kid at firestone for a comparable cost. We were required to have the best hunter machine offered and replace it periodically. You're comparing...
You should pull the sensor and make sure the float moves. Some washer fluid contains a chemical that gums them up and prevents it from moving with fluid level changes. I've probably replaced over 75 for that reason on many different cars when I worked for different dealers. I literally just...
I have my rear subframe out and apart for some POR15. It's ready to go back together less some black paint. I'd be willing to test both but I just can't do a heim. Is your design set in stone? I prefer a bushing set up (like ingalls control arms) or at very least a johnny joint as my car isn't...
I am not 100 percent sure but I think some problems stem from a crappy heim in combination with a full suspension cycle? I have the straight ones currently with no problem, however I haven't gone to Watkins Glen yet so I don't know how they will like track-use. I don't really understand why heim...
I'd be curious to see how you do it. I've been kicking the idea around for a bit but I always gave up at the lower control arm swaybar mounting situation. Thanks for even putting any effort into the 1g stuff. Even though many moved on to Evo's and GTR's and such, there's still a few bitter 1g...
EGR is designed to open at light throttle and low/cruising RPMs. On vacuum operated EGR valves it's referred to ported vacuum. Quite honestly low load/low RPM knock isn't very harmful because cylinder pressures are low. You could back off the timing, I wouldn't try to fatten a light load knock...
First off, an incorrect alignment won't cause a vibration but obviously could cause the drift. Do you feel/see anything in the steering wheel? If not, your seat? If it only happens at highway speeds, it's usually rotational. One other possible source could be the driveshaft but not likely. You...
Thanks. I ended up just buying a used one to check. I never saw anyone post measurements in that thread of clearances so i'll see if I can post some if it will help anyone in thr future. The spoke design is the biggest benefit. My gramlights have 40mm offset but aren't even close.
I have the CTSv calipers and gramlights 57c 17x7.5ET40 and require 20mm spacers on top of the 5mm spacer that comes from strictly performance. They stick out about 1" with my coilovers set to 2.5" of fender gap and uncorrected camber. I am looking to see how much spoke/caliper clearance there...
I've been searching for a clip I remember seeing online a while back of a white Galant who apparently just got married, and had about 15 soda cans dragging as he does a nice little launch. It was short but I thought it was pretty good. I give credit to anyone who marries a DSM'r due to the...
The EGR valve. I'm going to say one last time. It was invented for the sole purpose of knock. GM made it cause they had a lot of drivability problems because of no way to retard timing on the older cars. Period. It doesn't open at idle, or any throttle position except light cruise. It runs off...
It's original intention was to compensate for preignition from the inability to retard timing. That's it. in the 70's when it came out, there was before the fuel shortage etc. Now it might be an emissions device moreso.
That's what I ran, bone stock, without "free mods". The engine underwent an overhaul and it was sold. I havent had that car for a year and a half. I just haven't updated it. My faux pas. Seeing how you, '92showeclipse' have had no problems as a result, judging by your attitude, i'm willing to...
yeah, thanks. that's the way it's going to be regardless. I just wanted to add some food for thought to help those who may have not had a firm belief in either direction.
Maybe another day, i'm exhausted (no pun intended :notgood: ) from work all day, I just wanted to shed a little bit of light. When I have some more time/energy i'll bring up some other dead horses so we can beat them some more. Cats, MAF's, Exhaust size, and whatever you guys have to add.
You're probably right. I believe it has developed into the opposite of it's original intentions. It was for knock on an inappropriate ignition advance, now it's more for NOX and helps with knock which ill agree is minimal. Nice debate guys.
