Check out some adapters on amazon. I know you can buy an Evo to Greddy, or Evo to 1G adapter. Mount that flange to flange. Then use the Evo side and a hose to put the BOV you have on. Its a little crude, but I have seen it done that wav before. Or get a flange that matches whatever you...
Sir,
Please stop where you are at the moment. I just took the time to read through all of the posts in this thread. Before you do anything else, start to read through the "Resources" Section. It will teach you a great deal about these cars.
Do not listen to your second cousin's third...
Check out Ebay honestly. Im not one for liking to cheap out on anything anymore (I learned my lesson)m but there are some knock-offs on there that look pretty nice. Round. Square. Painted. Polished. All for 35 or less.
I had to replace the tank on my Spyder. I had one of these I got used and it works perfect.https://www.mishimoto.com/aluminum-coolant-reservoir-tank.html?fee=1&fep=2830&gclid=CjwKCAiAv9riBRANEiwA9Dqv1UgBo17RVGk_lPlV8LOgfx_42falV-snRD0_uVhSwXGdhDHAME_mURoCaLsQAvD_BwEI was able to open a...
I started ordering parts to 6-bolt swap the Spyder after I spun a bearing in the +200k mile bone stock engine. Once the first parts start showing up, I will finish checking out the other parts in my cart. I can only let so much stuff hit the bank at once.
I know that I have not been a big poster on the forums, but I have been a long time lurker. 90% or more of what I know came from this page. I am a member of FB groups, but majority of people there only want to hear the answers they want to hear. If I don't know something, I usually go to...
The simple thing is to buy a tab that piggy backs with a fuse. It slides into the fuse box along with the fuse. They some in a couple different styles. some with an additional fuse, and some that are just a small piece of metal. I would grab a test light and check the fuses to find a...
I am attaching a log of my Bolt on 6262. The car feels to run pretty well, but I would like some advice and critiques on the tune. Thanks to anyone in advance for looking.
After the mess I have seen on this car since I bought it over 2 years ago, I know it wasn't. When I picked it up, he made me promise that I wasn't going to sue him once I got it home. The ring gaps are all off. The rod bolts were over torqued. This car has had nearly every hack done to it...
So this weekend a friend and I finally decided to tear down my engine. We had no idea what we were going to find in the block. The previous owner supposedly had the engine "professionally built." Once we got the pan off, we discovered the great balance shaft elimination that was performed.
I would also check out your pedal assembly. It can wear out and cause the clutch to be out of adjustment. I would also check the pivot ball and fork. For how old our cars are, things are going to wear out. I had to replace everything in my clutch system, and get the pedals rebuilt to stop...
I would be interested in seeing if you could tap the plastic and thread a metal hose barb into it. I have never seen inside of one. I guess it would also depend if it cracked the housing or just sheared the nipple off.
When is the last time you inspected your knock sensor? Could there be a chance that the filling has worked its way out and you are picking up excessive engine noise?
Check your sealing ring on your oil cap, as well as the spark plug tube seals. Oil could very easily be building up from either location. Even with a brand new oil cap, I have seen oil work its way out. Oil pooling up in the valve cover doesn't necessarily mean a cracked valve cover.
Paint is not going to do very much for you. If anything, try a little JB Weld and the crack and then sand and blend it in. I have seen several fixed this way. Paint does not have the rigidity that would be needed to hold up to any sort of pressure.
Can't wait for this years event. Hopefully I can have the car well enough to drive it out again. Hopefully it's good enough that I can put it on the track.
For the price and effort, the VRSF isn't a bad choice. The installation is simple. The hardest part for me was cutting the bumper support. I was about 16 hours into working on the car that day and was tired though. I cut it wrong and ended up buying a JMF bumper support. The cutting of the...
I can say this did happen. We have a little set of drags here at the local airports called the Flashlight Drags. I am looking for the videos on youtube at the moment. Here are some videos.
Check your throttle tip in. It may be squirting too much or not enough fuel when you tap the throttle. I was experiencing the same problem. Turns out I had to pull out some tip-in values. Helped out significantly.
In ECMLink, you need to ground the timing and diagnostic pins. It is under the Misc tab. This will lock the base timing and ISC motor into place. That way there are no variables to change you idle. This gives you a base to set your idle off of, that way when your ecu is shooting for idle, it...
When you adjust the BISS, you need to ground out the connections using ECMLink. Otherwise, every adjustment you make is throwing the ISC farther out of adjustment. When you ground the connections, it sets the ISC to its "neutral position." You can then use the Biss to get everything adjusted...
The wife and I had an absolutely amazing weekend. She has decided that she is going to be getting a 2g here very shortly. We were able to spend some time with good friends, meet new people, and make new friends.Got to work on a friends car. Made me feel good knowing he was going to make...
If they run the SAT class next year, I will be right there with you. At least you ave someone you know you can beat. Will was making me want to run SOOOO bad, but I wanted to be sure that I made it home.
A bunch of us believe that Shane has a 10.99 run in him today. I don't think his pound of ice cream or the Buffalo wild Wings were any help to him yesterday. We will see what today brings.I have GoPro video and footage from the stands. Going to get more on him today. I will post the...
Finally here. Planning on lots of pictures this weekend. Cars made it without an issue. I'll be rocking the "Faith, Hope, and Zip Ties" GSX and staying at the All American. Feel free to chit chat if you see me.
Currently, I have a stock fan on the passenger side, and a slim fan that was given to me pushing on the driver side. I have them wired up off of the AC switch at the moment. Normally I leave them on constantly. Have not had a cooling problem yet.
On my 90, I went ahead and got rid of the ps cooler. It wasn't doing too much besides taking up space and leaking. The oil cooler is exactly where is was from the factory. the only issues I had was moving the coolant overflow. I just made a nice bracket out of a large worm clamp. The rest...
I know that guys are selling parts at the SO, but is there a place that we are listing things? We just throwing them up in the market place? I have some stuff I was going to bring to see if I can get rid of, but did not want to post them in the wrong spot.
I am sure that there are more people interested in seeing a no-bottle stock turbo car hit 10s than you would think. Your the reason I keep debating on a bigger turbo or not!
It would be nice to come up a day ahead of time, but work and finances don't allow it. We may possibly go up earlier, but it all depends how smoothly the week plays out.
I believe we are leaving Greene County around noon. We are supposed to roll through Pittsburgh around 1-1:30 and have a guy catch us on the way through. I am not sure on all of the details just yet. talontd92tsi is our little group leader for the trip. Hes got the plan.
$15 a day if you are just watching. The higher amounts are for racing entry fees. I had to reread it a few times when Buschur first posted it to understand it.
Jeff and I rebuilt mine in his garage in less than 2 hours. That was our first try, referring to the computer a few times, and not having all of the needed tools. I am sure we will have a functioning turbo for you somehow.
Can you see any part numbers on them? I have seen different brands use different colors before. The other way to tell is to plug them in and see if it works. I prefer to go with the cross reference before the trial and method though. Also, it may help a little if you worked on your grammar...
