i had this issue with my 92 tsi, checked everything, bad water pump... i just cant get the lower cam cover off the bolts are like super tight or just rusted one of the too...time to use pb blaster i guess haha
91h track vehicle mechanic..been in 3 years I'm a Cpl looking at my e5 here soon.. I'm currently in 3rd I.d at Stewart..I bought my dsm from a guy in Denver when I was stationed at my last duty station at Carson...anyone on here at Stewart currently? Need some more dsm buddies
i wouldnt recommend using a soda can or tin can either, all of those things are very very thin aluminum...anyone who knows anything about aluminum is that when its really hot it will warp and since its the EGR, hot exhaust gases will eat right through it...so i suggest using REAL aluminum plates...
i did the egr valve mod and now my car idles fine, and well of course readjusting my biss screw...turned it in all the way til it couldnt go in no more then backed it out about 2 full turns and now she idles at 750 :)i tried fixing the idle b4 i did the mod with adjusting the biss screw in all...
the whole soda can block off plate for the egr mod, yeah dont do it..and shame on you for any of you guys in this thread who read VFAQ....VFAQ clearly states not to use a soda can cause like the one guy guessed, he was completely right..its effective for a few months but eventually burns...

damn im jealous...little advice, your going to get parts from a parts store do advance auto instead of auto zone lol, but very nice dsm....looks like u need a dump tube to go from the bov to the intake
