mmm iam 32 got my first dsm out of high school..yea i have been around block with the cars also. and i have research..
to know that a proper fit. bored to spec mahle piston will handle ALL YOU CAN THROW AT IT.
and its the lightest on the market.
very happy for you and so can a stock OEM piston so what is your point ??? and that is a diff story and topic. now back to the topics at hand..... IF YOU OR ANYONE WOULD CALL MAHLE AND TELL THEM YOUR GOAL IS TO HAVE A 500HP or 25 PSI or more DSM THEY WILL TELL YOU TO UPGRADE TO THERE 2618 MAHLE PISTONS VS THERE 4032 PISTON. so again the MANLEY piston is the better choice. what part dont you get ?????? :aha:

I HAVE RUN BOTH 4032 AND 2618 MAHLE PISTONS AND THE 2618 HOLD UP ALOT BETTER.

map proved this just saying

that means nothing

this is off of the top of my head

ross - magnus - osofast -shep

wiseco - ams - kiggly

manley - ams - buschur

je - buschur

arias - pruven - mike evo3

venolia - extreme - morales

oem - ostar

and I am sure MAP is not running the Mahle 4032 piston

asks chris cary yourself if you dont believe them..
and itS call power pack and gold pack

and again..you CAN NOT compair 25 PSIof boost ON THREE DIFFERANT SIZE TURBOs:hmm:

and if one of my employes said another companys product was better ..they would be packing there stuff and be getting the hell out of my shop..so sir i call TOTAL BS ON THAT!!!!!!!! THAT SOMEONE FROM MAHLE SAID A MANLEY PISTON IS BETTER!:nono:

LET ME GUESS, YOU TRIED TO SELL THE OP A SET OF MANLEY PISTONS..AFTER YOU READ HIS POST?:shhh:

I think all of you are missing the real facts here.

Both pistons are good and stronger than stock.

4032 will expand a little less and allow you closer piston-to-cylinder-wall clearances in the .035-.04 range.

A 2618 piston will make a little more noise, possibly wear a tiny bit faster, but can handle a little more hammering on then the 4032.

With a proper tune either should be good well past what a stock piston can do, and we all know the stock bottom ends are toughhh.

I have a set of Mahle (pronounced Mah-lah for any of you that are curious) stroker pistons I will be using in my build, and they will be receiving 25psi from my BW S200SX. I'm sure they'll handle it just fine.

Sorry to bring back a old post but I just noticed this. First of all jack ass, why dont you call Mahle and just ask them yourself. Second I dont need to sale Dan anything that is what the Vendors are for. Its people like you that help other people blown shit up. Again if Op wants to run 25psi, Mahle will tell you to upgrade to there other piston set. What part of that dont you get ??????

And at the end of the day, Mahle doesnt make the pistons for him anyways. " As when dan first posted this"

This thread makes me want to go drown a squirrel.

When a stock piston will handle 400-500HP, which forged aftermarket piston is better is a completely moot point for 99% of DSM'ers. Buy a set and run it, it won't make a lick of difference.

I would go with Weisco HD 1400 Pistons. I bought the Eagle H Beam and Weisco HD piston combo for my motor rebuild. I am looking for a little more out of my car also. Just really depends on your experience. Last time I used a Manley Pistons kinda scrapped up my cylinder walls. They are known for this though dont know exactly just heard it from alot of other people that have used there pistons before.

Stumbled across this thread because I'm considering manley or ross pistons as an upgrade to go with manley turbo tuff i beams. I'd just like to say my current piston is the MAHLE 4032 low expansion piston. Been throwing 38psi at it for a while, 13k street miles handfull of 130-132mph passes and currently on 38psi on the 6466 had no problems that i could tell, I'm dissassembling the motor now so i can post results of what the pistons look like. Just wanted to say thay these pistons have been great and been through hell on my tuning learning curve. I'm looking to upgrade
To something proven for 1000whp. But wanted to say, for anyone reading this thread in the future, the mahle 4032's in my experience have been just great around what i would guess is the 500- 650whp range at that boost with those turbos. dont hesitate to use them.
