I've been lusting over the carbon fiber pieces you've got on the back end of your car for the past few weeks OMG I've found a carbon fiber center tail light and a diffuser to give the car a bit more black to complete my 'Panda' look ( I already have a carbon fiber hood and a carbon fiber lip splitter :thumb:)

Definitely an inspirational car in my eyes! :dsm:

It’s been almost two years since I last posted on this build thread! The car has been great since it was evo swapped and has given me minimal issues! The 2g has gotten many new parts since then, including a Carbonetics V2 carbon hood and authentic Bride Low Max bucket seats

Over time, it’s been clear the 3g trans can’t handle the power and my Clutchmasters clutch is starting to slip at WOT.

I think it’s time to AWD swap this eclipse and bring this build thread back to life.

I went out yesterday and picked up a 95 gsx gas tank, subframe, rear knuckles, axles and differential.

Next step is figuring out if the Evo transfer case will line up to the Gsx differential in the back.

I’ll keep this thread updated as I gather more parts and take the car back apart.

I also started uploading the whole process on YouTube! - https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCTHzYGslgD7s2S_3edEGbzQ

Very cool. Can’t wait to see more. Someday I’ll do this to my 420a. I think this might be the first that is actually doing the AWD swap, unless there is someone out there who did it but never posted anything about it on the interwebs.

Cool build Miguel. Keep us posted on here and YouTube!

Have you seen this by the way? I think it's in Russian but you can turn on the subtitles and understand 80 percent of it. He did an Evo 9 swap, with an Evo 6 transfercase, an Evo 7 driveshaft, and a rear end from a "Legum"? I think that's Russian for Galant LOL?

Part 1

Part 2 - Under the bottom

I don't know if it's possible, but I think the ultimate swap would be to some how implement the Evo Acd transfer case.

Small correction; the "Legnum" is the AWD, twin-turbo variant of the 8th gen Galant wagons (1996-2002), primarily sold in Japan.

Otherwise I love your build and content, Miguel. Keep up the good work!

I think the Legum is an old russian hooker.

Looks like 255/35/zr18. The rims look to be Rays GramLight 18x10 positive 30-35ish offset maybe. I've been wanting this set up myself. This is the car i dream of.

I doubt it's that wide... The wheels are Gramlights 57DR... I'd guess18x9.5 +22 offset with 255/35/18 tires.

Is it me or your just ignore people’s questions about your wheel and tire setup? 5 ppl asking the same thing is not hard to see. I’ve known ppl to not answer that so others can’t use the same fitment. Don’t do that.

Sorry haven’t been active but I’ll be posting the progress from time to time!

Got the car on jack stands and fully removed the fwd gas tank and subframe. Cleaned up the awd components and started cutting into the chasis for the awd subframe and gas tank holes.

For the people wanting to do this in the future, your rear end work will be the same as the Gst to Gsx conversion! There’s countless threads on how to do that so it should be easy. Only difference is you will need the AUTO GSX rear differential (JFH) with the 3.307 gear ratio to match the evo transfer case up front. I’ll post this link here for a quick reference.

For the visual learners, im also documenting the whole swap on Youtube (Channel: Miguel Dsm). Ill post the link of the latest video below! Cheers! :dsm:

Quick update! The Dsm officially has a full GSX rear end! Only needs the drive shaft and drive shaft hangers installed.

We moved towards the front of the car to remove all bolt ons and get the motor out.

We then removed the fwd 3g trans to install the new Evo 4 trans and transfer case to test fit into the chasis.

We then removed all accessories to prep the engine bay shave & paint!

We currently ran into fitment issues. The Evo 4 transfer case is hitting the front subframe. We plan on cutting and making space. Previously relocated transmission mount looks like it will still fit the evo trans without modifications.

Here’s the last YouTube video we got up!

Any reason your rear lower arms are in upside down??

No need for him to spill the beans. I'm very familiar with Evo 8-9 wheel specs... And after much back and fourth and tons of measuring, I'm confident his wheel specs are 18x9.5 +22 offset, with a 245/35/18 or 265/35/18 tire. I have feeling it's the 245/35/18.

Because he's being secretive, it annoys me so much, but hey to each their own. I merely wanted to specs to confirm my measurements and not copy his set up.
