Hello everyone,

I'm in Dallas, and recently picked up a dsm again. Looking to see if there are any people or shops in DFW who still specialize in dsms. Evolution Dynamics once recommended me a shop near their area in Lewisville, however I have since lost that contact info. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

I am out west of Denton now, can do some work and fabrication. But am not a shop.

What do you need done?

Holy shit crackerman! I think I took my ECU to you yeaaars ago to fix some caps back when I had my first dsm! And man, the previous owner just really hacked the shit out of this car. They did a very poor battery relocation job, as well as hacked some wiring for an aftermarket fan, and I am just trying to revert all that back to stock, but I have no clue about wiring.

Growler in Plano use to be cobb, or you can try prt, Alamo is still in Arlington.

Honestly at these cars age unless your are extremely specific about what you want done, most shops are really going to drain your bank account

Thanks. Yeah I know Cobb/Growler in Plano pretty well, I've taken my evo 10 to them several times. But just didn't think they would know about dsms or tuning them. And man I haven't heard of Alamo in a very long time LOL. I'm mostly just trying to get some terrible wiring issues figured out from the previous owner on this car which I am pretty clueless about.

Im in Denton, glad to see people from DFW! Dont know of any shops. Where in Dallas are you at?

Hey good to meet ya! I am in Las Colinas. Yeah I had a 90 gsx about 10 years ago, parted it out and its been my biggest regret since. I have an evo 10 now but I went and picked myself up another bastard 90 gsx again. Good to see some local dsmers still out here!

It popped up in Waco on craigslist just 2 weeks ago! I nabbed it immediately haha. But it definitely needs some wiring correction for sure. And that is the reason I posted this thread! I won't have a clue what to do with dsm link once I eventually get it for the car, so was hoping for a good local tuner around here that is familiar with the dsm link.

What about the install and setup are you scared about?

The stock 2g gsx my dad bought 2 years ago took him 2 years to find. They can be found you just have to be willing to wait for what you want.

Well, I dont know how to do it. I’ve watched videos on YouTube awhile back, my car wasn’t running then but it is now. I have to watch’em again and download the software and all. I guess I just dont want to mess anything up. Thats all.

It's not tii bad. Have you already made allowances) installed the sensors? If so getting going doesn't take too long.

Otherwise expect 4 to 8 hours to get everything installed and start a decent baseline driveable tune. IF everything is 100% ready to go. (No overheating or charging issues and a few sets of plugs)

I could help you out, but you will probably have to come to me

Like Crackerman said its not to bad if everything is ready to go. I could give ya a hand if needed. Do you have a map sensor and wideband already? Are you running a factory mas, gm maf or speed density?

I dont have a map sensor. I thought the stock one was enough (the one on top of the intake mani) cant remember the exact name. Would I need just a reg map sensor? Im running a gm maf. No speed density. Ive done my boost leak test and its good. I have wide band installed as well. I appreciate your help as well. Thanks guys.

The factory sensor is the MDP sensor. an aftermarket map sensor is helpful but not required. there are a couple options as far as the sensor goes. You can get one that replaces the stock sensor( bolts into same place and plugs into stock harness) or you can get a gm style one that you have to wire in and get an adapter for pressure source.

Does Extreme Psi sell the one that bolts on to the stock location? Whitch one is/works better?
