Calling upon the hivemind's knowledge.
Search and FSM yielded unclear answers. I just wanted to know where this ground wire's home is. It appears to connect to the ground terminal that attaches to the battery, need confirmation.

yes that's a battery ground. I don't recall anything else haviing such a large end.

Can you confirm you have a ground to the starter bolt on the trans bell housing? Sorry may be a long shot just trying to help rack everyone's mind. Thank you for your time, Jason Penny

Yes, i have a ground attached to the starter bolt. I thought the same thing, but the wire in question is fairly long and wouldn't fit correctly without having a lot of slack.

While we're at it, I'm looking for battery terminals that have provisions to attach additional wires. The stock (+) terminal is cramped and getting weak, and the (-) terminal is lead and has seen better days.

None of the battery terminals at auto supply stores or even online support ring style crimps (like the blue wire in my previous picture that is part of the fuel pump rewire kit). The most common terminal I see requires having the bare copper strands exposed, and then you'd just cinch them down with a bolt.
I feel like over time, the copper would get worn down if I ever need to detach and re-attach the wires.

I find it hard to wrap my mind around that cable going directly to the terminal. Possibly attaches to firewall those white clips pop in somewhere..can you trace down the other side at all...as far as the terminals have you considered a distribution block of some sort.

The white clips just go into holes on the battery tray edge (engine side) to hold the cable in place. One cable end goes to battery negative, the other to starter mounting bolt. There should also be another large cable going from battery negative to firewall. Do not go from battery negative to firewall to starter mounting bolt (adds a small resistance which will drop voltage at that overlapping connection affecting starter voltage when drawing high current while cranking). There should be 2 cables going to battery negative.

Here's a reference pic on mine. There's a short ground wire which goes from the firewall spade connector to the negative battery terminal.

I've used this style for years. If you want spots to add stuff stereo guys have all sorts of things. Try a stereo shop.

Here's some. I personally have a stinger terminal for the positive and a kicker one for negative. Each has one small ring terminal and multiple 0/4/8awg inputs.

If you want to get fancy, you can get lug ends with solder ports that fit most wire sizes perfectly, then they bolt into the stereo style battery terminals without cutting through the wire etc.

Something like this, but use solder instead of the set screw.
