I am ready to bolt up the flywheel on my 6 bolt non-turbo. There wasn't a crank to flywheel dowel pin when I pulled it off. In fact, the holes weren't even lined up for it.
I was hoping to get it on tonight. From what I have read, the the non-turbo 6-bolts didn't use a dowel.

Did the non turbo 6 bolts have the dowel hole in the crank and flywheel even though they didn't utilize it? And should I use a dowel, or just go ahead and bolt on the flywheel?

Thanks everyone.

Mitsubishi didn't use a dowel pin for the flywheel on any 4G6 motor from the factory.

This is 100% FALSE information. The part number for the crank to flywheel dowel pin is clearly listed on Extremepsi, JNZ, etc's websites. Don't post things you don't know about. It ruins it for everyone else.

Also, to the OP, you can definitely run it without the dowel, as stated, the non turbo 6 bolts don't use one. Don't forget the red lock tight on the flywheel bolts, and make sure you have the right length bolts for the flywheel your using! Different flywheels have different flange thicknesses.
