Good to see a larger DSM crew in the area. Too bad I sold my white 95. Its still running around here though. White with Gunmetal wheels. Sold it to a friends little brother with the promise he wouldn't take the dsmtuners.com stickers off the windows or the Mississippi dead head off the rear bumper.

What's up DSMer's in the Jackson Area. My name is Jeremy and I just purchased a 2g awd talon. But unfortunately I blew my head gasket the same day I bought the car. So now it has been about a month and a half and still no ride. I got the head reworked at Acey's machine shop. He did a full valve job and decked the head. Finally got it back and put it on using arp headstuds and a cometic head gasket. But now it will only idle. Greg Bradley is currently working on it at his shop. I'm hoping I can begin making turbo noises again next week. For all you local guys hit me up at [email protected] so we can get together.

Greg does real nice work! My Talon is a blast to drive, thanks to Greg. Car is still a work in progress though. I am the Crystal Springs area

That car in your av looks familiar Greg.
I haven't heard from you in a while.

Hey, newb here. Name's Joey. I live out by the rez most of the time but the last year I've resided in lovely Kabul Afghanistan. I bought a 99' non turbo RS brand new out of high school. Loved the car except for the motor. I did run a personal best of 16.2@84 with it in Memphis back in college, not bad for 150ish hp, I/H/E and no tune. Anyway, on my last R&R I bought a 98 GSX with a 16g and 6-bolt swap. But it needs alot of work, alot...engine and drivetrain wise anyway. The body is in great shape, nice rims, lowered, no power steering so it turns on rails. Only has 65,000 on the tach. Gunna let Greg look at it in a couple week during my next R&R, see what he can do. Look forward to talking with you guys and maybe goin for a spin when I get back for good. Godspeed.

Wow. Last post in 2010. I feel all alone here in SW Mississippi. Nobody nearby?[DOUBLEPOST=1413264488][/DOUBLEPOST]Oops... Make that 2012. There are are a few in McComb, here, but not that sociable. Love to meet a few with more experience.

I know the last post was back in 2014, just wondering if anyone else is still around? Moved the Hburg 3 years ago, bought a trashed red 97 2g GST and completely tore it apart and rebuilt it (interior swap, repaint, trans, 6 bolt swap, everything) It's my weekend warrior car and love working on her/cruising around. There is a car meet every Saturday in Hattiesburg but mostly domestics with a few imports (evo8, Honda, acura) Would be nice to see some DSMs once in a while.

Geesh, its been silent in MS on the DSM front. I know of a few folk in the northern part of the state who are big time DSM'ers but not any in the middle or southern area. I lived in MS 20 years ago but I've kept up with the scene because I was one of the very few DSM owners in the area back in the 90s. I used to go to the track in Hattiesburg back in the day. Your car looks great! You'll have to represent until the DSM family finds you. Here in TN we have hundreds of owners but most of the cars don't run or they are being built for track purposes. Unfortunately that seems to be the direction of the platform. For those of us who enjoy the DSM experience without the 9 second 40 psi boost.

The car on my avatar is the one I owned then. I still have the car. I've expanded to include a 91 Eagle Talon AWD w/auto trans, a 92 Plymouth Laser AWD and a 98 Eclipse GS Spyder. I also have a '93 Mitsubishi 3000gt VR4. I will send a message to you and try to get you into our FB group. You can meet folk that might be in your region.

Thanks for the invite and reply. I've been on and off in the DSM world but have always stayed lurking around. Really looking forward to meeting with other DSMers, I know the platform is a dying breed so to speak but I still love the platform and its possibilities. I'm not into building a track monster but a clean and capable street car. I'm currently deployed right now and should be back in MS very soon so I can't wait to start tinkering again. As it sits, my car is going to need a tune as the last time I did a few pulls with ecmlink, I can't get past 5 degrees timing WOT! Again, thanks for the invite and glad to see another DSMer close to me...sorta

Totally understand the position you are in. Even though I'm in TN we have hundreds of DSM around we don't meet up that often as a group. We used to years back but it's taken a turn mostly due to folk disassembling their cars to build a track car. My opinion on track vs street is that you can't mix the two. If it's going to be a track then likely it won't be a safe and reliable street car. A good street car could be a capable track car but not to run 30+ psi boost on a sustained activity.

I'm pretty good with link so I can help tune the car remotely. There's small pockets of DSMs near Memphis and in Alabama nearby to you. I've been wanting to get on a road trip. I drove to the very last Mitusbishi Owner's Day at the Normal IL plant back in 2014. It was good to be involved with nationwide owners.

Sweet. When I get back I'll definitely get in contact and maybe you could help me out with my tune if you are able. I was on the fence with selling the 2g and buying an evo but wasn't set on that as I still enjoy tinkering with this platform.
