Coming from another painter "A couple drips" in every job is not normal for a painter LOL.
I paint 50+ cars a week and I run something (or drip as you called it) maybe once a month. If you do the math that is 1 out of every 200+ cars.
If I ran paint jobs on a regular basis I would get my ass...
I haven't updated this in quite some time. The car still isn't 100% finished. I had a debacle with my Holset and just am waiting on a replacement turbo at the moment. Probably going to go with a Precision 6262. Pretty much everything else is finished. The AWD conversion is done, the car has been...
Well....
We have connection!
I added another ground from one of the top transmission bolts to the firewall, mounted the negative cable to the firewall which has two grounding points of its own, then put an old battery in the car that we had kicking around in the garage. The battery is...
I'm getting some suggestions from a couple people about adding some grounds. There is no battery in the car, we're using one of those large battery chargers/starters to supply power to the car with the negative cable attached to one of the strut bolts. I don't have any grounds in the engine bay...
Upon removing some electrical tape from one of the ECU harnesses this is what we found.
This is connector B-56. Pin 78 (Pin out info I'm looking at states this pin is for the knock sensor for 95-96s. My car is a 97)
It looks like he has 4 different grounds tied into Pin 78 and they run...
Also want to add that the car seems like it had an alarm system at one point I see some wires cut in the drivers side kick panel area and also some wires that were spliced into the ignition harness to the lower left side of the steering column at one point. I'm about to post up some pictures of...
I'm having some crazy electrical issues with my build. I picked up the car as a shell in March. It was FWD.
We did the AWD conversion, fuel senders rewired as the diagrams on here suggest, etc.
We got the motor in the car and yesterday went to connect the laptop to test the fuel pump. Two...
Like someone posted earlier, I ended up going with this diagram and found that I had two Yellow/blue wires also. A little confused as to what the other yellow/blue is for. Hopefully I used the correct one.
I'm a little bit behind on updates.
Since the last post I have just about finished the AWD conversion, painted my undercarriage, re-done my talon headlights and buffed the lenses, and some other misc things. I still have some work to do until the car is truly finished, but I'm plugging away at...
Can somebody point me in the right direction as far as wiring my fuel pump? I see a bunch of different diagrams throughout this thread but I'm not very sure which one to use for my application.
The car I am doing the swap to is a 97 tsi,
My donar car was a 99 GSX. I cut the fuel pump harness out...
The gas tank bolts were incredibly easy. For those who may be able to use this for reference in the future, what I did was wrap a piece of solder around the bolt, put the bolt into the larger holes next to the holes the bolts actually need to go in and then fished them through right to the holes...
