Pt.3...Made it out the Spyder today to get the parts box I forgot. Turns out it's just rusty clutch parts and a horribly rusty crankshaft, that one will go "In the Bin!" (Love those guys). Got a few interior shots as well. This is not a oem gauge face set unfortunately. Only hope the gauges...
I'd take the car back and have them readjust the roof. If they misaligned it, they should be responsible for fixing their mistake. Even the rear window isn't sitting right.
What sensor are you talking about? I see you have a 3G spyder, and we are all 1G and 2G. Not saying you can't ask, but 2G spyders don't have any sensor warning the driver that the top is open or closed. Also, the pic of your car from the back of the top makes your top look highly misaligned...
Do a boost leak test. That'll pin point MOST of the vacuum leaks. You will probably need to rebuild your throttle body, or at a minimum, replace gaskets and o-rings in/on it. The TB is notorious for leaks. Look around for old dry-rotted vacuum lines as well, a lot of them are on the backside of...
If you are dead set on using 2G pistons in a 6-bolt (assuming these are actually 2G pistons), get a set of 6-bolt rods and have the wrist pin holes bored 1mm oversize. Then you can install the 2G pistons on them.Beat me while I was typing.... LOL
I would never use rods that came "free" with one of them looking that bad. Whatever engine they came from spun a bearing. Just because that one got trashed, you never know how much glitter got recirculated through the oiling system and into the other rods. At least you got them for free, because...
It sounds (to me) like you have a definite coolant leak, but where it's sucking air, and not leaking the coolant. Get a coolant system pressure tester and pressurize the system. Look for leaks. If none are present, I'd do the same thing as a boost leak test and spray some soapy water around to...
Pt.2...I'm now the 4th owner of this Spyder, and it is claimed to have been garaged for most of its life. It started out as a N. Carolina car and made its way to Colorado being exchanged through 2 friends. The body Is in great condition minus a couple little dings that should pull out fine...
A Long Wait...?!? Pt.1...It's been 2 years since I did anything on this build. I've deleted the posts, but the grey Spyder I found in Sacramento got left behind due to the trailer it was on breaking, and I got screwed over in the process. Can only blame myself. Uhaul wouldn't give me a tow...
