General 1GB weird boost gauge readings

after further thought i think that the p vacuum port must be on the charge side of the throttle body, while the e port is in the intake manifold side of the throttle body. i swapped the bov hose with the boost gauge hose, bov on e and boost gauge on p, car started fine boost gauge dropped to...

General 1GB weird boost gauge readings

so my intake manifold is NA as it only has the red circle and the green circle above. the pcv valve is blocked off completely. as a "solution" to the pcv vacuum line the previous owner ran a line from one side of the valve cover on the back left to a catch can and back to the valve cover on the...

General 1GB weird boost gauge readings

@Vegas smith @007jimmy thanks for the answers. i am waiting on the car to cool down i just got home from work and it is about 94 degress outside (columbia, sc) so the engine bay is pretty warm. i am wondering now too if it is an NA manifold - i stuck my hands all under the manifold last night...

General 1GB weird boost gauge readings

I recently purchased a '94 talon tsi (FWD) - it has an aftermarket boost gauge mounted in one of the center vents. originally when i purchased the vehicle the boost gauge was reading mostly at the absolute negative pressure (vacuum) around -30. WOT would push it to a positive pressure but idle...

    1G GST Catback Exhaust (1gb)

@SouthIndy_Talon that is what i was reading too. although it seemed to only have an impact due to the saddle tank which is only gsx i believe. so it seems plausible that the the FWD exhaust would not work with AWD due to the tank location. but bc the FWD doesnt have the saddle tank the AWD...

    1G GST Catback Exhaust (1gb)

@Bud92gsx thanks for the suggestion, there are a lot more options for the AWD exhaust so i have a feeling i should be able to find something much easier now. i have a stainless downpipe but i will need to weld in a bung for a wideband sensor, or i may just try to find a complete used turbo back...

    1G GST Catback Exhaust (1gb)

any idea how much a fabbed exhaust would weigh? i mean i suppose i could chose my own material (i.e. stainless piping or titanium if i want to go crazy). that CXRacing is just so stupid heavy (estimated shipping weight of 85lbs) so even though it's cheaper it is not an attractive purchase to me...

    1G GST Catback Exhaust (1gb)

I have been searching for a catback exhaust for my new (to me) '94 Tsi (FWD) but the pickings seem to be very slim. So far all I have found is Thermal Research & Development 3" Catback and CXRacing 3" catback. My car only came with a stainless downpipe so i know i will also need to get the test...
