When I got my Spyder, I had found out the previous owner who was the only other owner of the car had Ziebart undercoating and rust protection done to it annually since the car came from the dealer lot. I pulled the rear tire well, carpet and back seats and could not find any rust on the other...
Took Haruko out for a spin to stretch her legs a bit. Had a few good rainstorms wash all the salt off the roads the past two or so days and wanted to kick off the driving season early.
Installed some new spark plug wires in Haruko since her current ones were starting to dry rot and crack. I also learned that apparently NGK makes some plug wires in the USA.
I wet vac'd the trunk carpet and hooked up a JY horn I got a month or so back and tested it. I checked the spare tire and found the tread had some wear to it so ill see about looking for a new one.
I know the black and white historical ohio plates can only be used to drive to shows and the car has to be 25 years old but believe the collector plates have a bit more freedom in terms of destinations. I know that collectors plates can't be used on the primary car of transport though...
This will be my third one and first one with my new to me DSM. Met a few friends there who also share the same passion for DSMs like I do. I always make sure that I make room for this event because it is one of my favorite things to do. Cant wait to see all who show up this year!
Well, I ended up replacing the MDP sensor and the light has stayed off and allowed me to pass Echeck. I'm thinking that's what the initial issue was and it hasn't come back since.
Ive lurked here for a few years trying to learn more about these fun cars and have used some of the information I have acquired on what to look for when buying one of these cars. Now that ive finally bought one, I hope to continue to learn and share what ive learned along the way in the journey...
