My new Toy I have been working on!

So after about 5 years of being away looks like I'm getting back into the DSM game. Got pretty far on the 4runner. Still need a set of sliders and rear bumper but after that she is pretty much done.My brother's dsm (1990 1ga Panda) has been sitting about 2 years with blown trans or clutch...

JACKS TRANSMISSIONS IS DONE WITH DSM's

I had Jack weld me up an exhaust in his driveway when first starting out. Its sad to see him move one but has been in the plans for some time now. My buddy works and used to build his DSM trans last few years and he has been telling me its going away. There is just so much more money in the...

E85 goo - this time with an attitude

Just wanted to add to this. Have not been around a very long time. Been doing my 3rd gen 4runner build and got away from the street scene.Anyways my brother has been running e85 for over 10-12 years. He has had the goo issue but never that bad. Just a little gas to clean it up here and...

General Switch from BPR7ES To BR7ES, add bunch of timing?

Agreed. I used to run .20 all day no issues. At 35psi spikes anything higher and I would get breakup. But I ran non projected plugs for years and never relized all you guys still used projected plugs. LOL Anyways I dont remember there being a change in power. Us e85 guys ran them to help...

My new Toy I have been working on!

Yea I really want to build an 85 4runner into a full blown buggy like that. But you can easily drop 20-40k into an offroad buggy.

My new Toy I have been working on!

Mudding is fun, but I'm more of a trail guy. Taking it slow up steep hills, ruts and large rocks and boulders. LOL. Mud just gets everywhere, in everything and gets you stuck!

My new Toy I have been working on!

Toyota that is! I love this thing. I have not been over here in a long time and just wanted to stop in and show my new project. Not going to lie I miss my DSM, but not that much. LOL. I have had this truck for two years now. Bought it with 180k miles and now its almost at 210k. Took a lot...

    A good 400hp clutch.

The only good 400whp clutch in a DSM is an Automatic. LOL

Putting the hx35 to the test!

I agree, dynojets are just inflated crap numbers. I made over 405whp on a dynojet as where a load bearing dyno I made 330whp.

    Tuning choices

I agree. If your looking at mid power goals like that ecmlink is all you need. It has a much smaller learning curve than AEM. Once you learn link and are comfortable you can use that knowledge to help you move onto other EMS like AEM.They tell you AEM because its the best on the market...

E85 goo - this time with an attitude

Thats is a lot of goo. I ran e85 for over 2 years and never had that much goo. Not to mention I ran it on a stock fuel filter.

    Very interesting knock issue

What you have is a classic case of Phantom Knock(PK). It can be caused by a lot of issues and plagues 1g 6 bolt motors. It could be a bad knock sensor, under or over tightened. Could be lifter tick, solid motor mounts, exhause hitting something. Can be so many issues. I ran ecmlink full...

dsm link and holset hx52 on 1st gen

Agreed ecmlink all the way. Its not easier than a maf-t but overall very easy once you understand some basics.
