After 3 months up on jack stands, I finally got my 1g back on the road.I’d like to thank all the folks that shared their knowledge to help me with all my questions and set backs. Also, thank you to all those who have posted over the years to create this archive, and those who continue to...
Will an ISC from a turbo work on an N/A?
After some searches, some folks say they are different, others say they are interchangeable, and others even say they are the same.
The parts look identical. I even saw one on eBay that had the same PN printed on it as the one I took out, but was listed...
Started with the FIAV.
The plastic plug under the freeze plug is stuck. Really stuck. Have it soaking in PB at the moment hoping that will help.
Any other tricks/tips on how to get it screwed in?
This is a non-turbo car.
BISS and timing both done.
TB sat in the garage for about 2 months dry.
Can the FIAV be cleaned if it is just dried up coolant?
Yep, all of the hoses are connected. I just finished an engine swap. Thing is, I used the intake and TB from the old motor and never had this problem before.

I have searched and read many pages on the subject and I know it could be a few different things.
Here’s the thing: when I ground out the timing plug the idle immediately goes back to normal. And when...
Yeah, I know. But I just got the motor back in and started up. That’s when I noticed it.
I’ll give it a try. Worst case, belt falls and I have to take it all off again anyway.
Hopefully I’ll get lucky.
My intake cam gear is bent and needs to be replaced. I did check to make sure it was torqued and seated well.
I just put the motor in with a new timing belt, etc and really don’t want to go through all that again.
I’ve read some threads regarding swapping cams without taking the timing belt...
Now I'm really confused :confused:My old flywheel (7-bolt) has a 106 tooth ring gear, but this is a FWD, N/T car.
The 6-bolt flywheel has 110 teeth, but there's no way it will fit in the bell housing. Is there any chance I could have and AWD tranny? Should I be looking for an AWD flywheel?
