Just when i thought you would never see these again. I work at a Chrysler dealership and stumbled on the chrysler part number for these rails and searched and found approx. 20 left and right rails in the system, so i purchased a set just in case and sure enough they showed up today and they are the infamous drip rails. part number to look up are.....mb882473 and mb882474

dont have pics but they are the upper moulding that usually cracks and shows chrome...they run if i remember msrp 74 a side but im in canada and i paid with my discount 40 a side.

I ordered a set of these and they don't fit. They look identical but the bend is slightly off and the screw holes are in different spots. I called the dealership that Chryslerparts.net is linked to and he's ordering another set to see if they packaged them, he assured me they should have fit.

Not happy.

They are exactly the same. Take more time and examine what you are doing.

No, they're not exactly the same. The screw holes are in different spots, the width is different and they look like they might be different length.

The part number is also different than the mitsubishi part, which if I'm mistaken, it should be the same.

Comparison pictures of the old verses the new. Notice the bolt holes:

Does anyone have a new set of the Dodge parts numbers lying around that they ordered? I will be willing to buy whatever anyone has for what they paid for them shipped.

Thanks,

Dave

The only way you're going to find a set is to track down one of the people sitting on a set or two on their garage. New / New old stock doesn't exist anymore.

Wow, this thread title scared the be-jezusus out of me. I thought they were being re-made again, or someone managed to make a re-production of it. :(

+1 but dat thread date.

I suppose plastidip will have to do until someone decides to part with a set.

Is there a way to soften the rubber injection parts of the rail to "fix" the cracks or chips in it? A chemical or process that can make it malleable.
