I'm still fighting a couple driveline issues that I will have sorted soon, but I thought I would post up some pics of my new setup for this season. These were stolen from other people's websites and taken at the Buschur Mitsu vs Subaru Showdown. I hope to have it going for some full-power passes soon. So far it hasn't had anything that even remotely resembles a real pass.

Here they are:

Impressive!
Good luck this season, though if the car is half as fast as it looks, none will be needed ;)

BTW, any plans to make the Mitsu Shootout 7/22 at E-Town?

They are the lightest 1gs i believe :)
LOL there you go, that must be it! I'm sure they all weigh the same naked :) No seriously though, it's just funny how few Lasers are out there and yet we have three fully prepared race cars with Greg, Tom (road race) and Kevin (here with his drag car), not to mention a few others that I'm forgetting at the moment.

Pretty cool. Nice job Kevin, that thing looks pretty mean. Let's hope for some success!

I will not be running the E-town Mitsu shootout. If everything is in working order, which I hope it will be, I will be running the NDRA race in Leichester, NY that weekend. Since they no longer allow automatic transmissions in Pro4, I will be running Pro FWD.

A couple quick specs on the basic setup:

NDRA Pro GT or Pro FWD class legal
NHRA Hot Rod class legal (here I might be competitive if things go well)
25.5 certified cage/chassis, legal to 7.50's
4-link rear suspension
65" wheelie bars per NHRA rules
28 x 10.5" MT slicks on 10" wheels
74mm turbo, 2.3l, auto trans
With the Halon system, race weight is 2090lbs

I'm hoping for mid 8's by the end of the year. After a few remaining issues are sorted out I'll be chasing that down.

O_O *drool* I kow you dont know me but I wish you luck too! Looks like you wont have trouble getting there! I also plan on buying your main girdle plates in the very near future for my 2.3l build as they look VERY well worth the money. :)

What's up with all the fully built race cars on our site being Lasers? :)

On our site yes, but don't forget some of the better Talons out there as well.

Shepherd, both of Buschur's rwd car, Marco's 2g drag car, Sean Glazer, Dennis Grant's SM champion car, and of course mine :DROFL

Oddly enough short of Brent Rau's 2g I can't think of any Eclipse racecars really.

Update:

Its slowly being sorted out. I ran at the NDRA race in NY this past weekend and got one pass down at 22psi. On a less than perfect launch it went 10.5 at 128mph. I should still have another 0.2s left in the 60' and then around 20# more boost to go.

Very impressive. Good luck and I hope its all sorted out by the shootout. You should run a tnt over at martin once so I dont have to drive so far to watch your car go down the track :D

so you run 42 lbs on your 1g bov and you haven't noticed it leaking?

damn, gives me hope for my 1g bov, LOL
