I didn't like the way this FMIC mounted as shown in the articles here. So I decided to shrt route it using the pipes that came with the kit. I actually had enough piping left to make a CAI but decided to scrap that because it was 2 1/2 going into a 3" inlet into the 57 trim. Like it?

I had to cut some of the pipes and order some transition hoses. I also had to relocate the coolant resevoir and zip tied it to the plastic cover for the passenger side wheel. The BOV ended up kind of low but still a very good place; just not where it is usually placed. Kind of original I think!

I'm trying to figure out how to host them. I tried putting them on my gallery but I guess they take sometime to get approved.

here i had to make a TB inlet of 2 1/2 to fit the 90 degree 2 1/2- 3 1/4 transition hose to the GM MAF.

Here you can see the funky CAI and the position of the BOV below

As viewed from the front. It is crooked because I don't have the lower brackets on yet. I still have more work to do before I secure it.

finally here you can see the lower pipe. I had to use another 90 degree transition hose for the turbo and a 45 degree to fit the 90 degree elbow of the kit. That is the long hose that is suppossed to go in front of the intercooler. Much slimmer now. There is plenty of space for slim fans. The OEM ones may fit with some modification but I already have some slims on the way.

It looks crooked because the lower brackets are not on yet.

so is the filter inside the passenger fender well in front of the tire???

other wise nice job, and try to get some intake temp logs or somethin to see if that cold air set up actually
works... Like see if it lowered knock or anything like that.

and your coolant bottle couldve been set to the right of the ic with the bov attached right? Seems you have room to still keep it up front. Since you have that big ic in the front blocking all your radiator air, you could put like a sheet metal , or rubber scoop between the radiator and the ic, to pic up air under the car and scoop it up into the radiator.... The scoop will sit horizontal directly under the bumper, and ive seen this work to lower temps a little. Also consider a fluidyne radiator.

So this is the XS 1G kit? you just changed around the pipes?

If so, you need to do a write up for all the 1G owners.

true, but still need those temp numbers and knok nightspeed97 is speaking about

I though about doin the same thing. But I could not figure out where to go on the drivers side so I could keep my abs and a/c.

Yes the 1g kit comes with alot of pipe. But iy looks like you have alot of money invested into silicone and those couplers are not cheap.

for what? to see if the custom cold air intake setup helps? i'm sure it does based on past custom cold air intake setups/scoops, but there is nothing wrong with the fmic pipe routing from what i see. This kit is <$290 shipped brand new.

The only thing which is a downside is what someone mentions, the silicone couplers/reducers and what not. Those things are not cheap. And how hard the extra labor is.
