I'm working on a directory that lists all the shops in the Rocky Mountain region that have dynos we can use. If you've had your car on a dyno in the RM region (Colorado, Utah, Wyoming), please reply to this thread and give us a link to the shop's site, or a place where we can find more info about the shop. And please specify whether it was an AWD dyno or not. If someone posts the shop you were going to mention, no need to mention it over again. I'd like to keep this thread clean and simple.

That figures, after I move away from the fort after 9 years and some finally pulls their head out of thier ass and buy a awd dyno.:cry:

and their dyno nubers are bullshit, my car made 60 whp more than at PFI,redline and super repair. :notgood:

This just in..... dyno's should be used for tuning and comparing numbers on the same dyno... not swinging from the hairy bean bag

Your trap speed and ET seem a little slow for 384hp! let me guess where you tuned your car?

I went 12.40 @118 in a all-trac with 350 AWHP, the car weighs a good 300lb more than your 1st gen. I got $100 bucks that you car puts down 330ish in boulder.

I'm looking to take the EFI 101 class this spring in boulder, you should bring your car by with the same mods and setting and see what she can do.

No I didnt "tune" it there.

So I guess since I made 260/280 SAE on a 14b and then 384/350 SAE on a 50trim on MACs dyno, my hp increase must be fake and the comparison between the runs invalid.
Comparing mine to others on the same dyno must not work either.

It put down 310 uncorrected. 110 trap at 3280 lbs, calculates to be about 310 whp.
Of course it will put down less on a load bearing dyno, thats a given.

FYI, all dynos up here will read incorrectly SAE for a turbo vehical, there is no way to take in account for the efficency of the turbo, the engine and all that stuff for every car.

A dyno is a tool for tuning and comparing. Comparison between different dynos and facilities are invalid.
 
Hey guys, let's leave the attitudes at the door please. Other DSM sites encourage that, but around here we don't like divisive attitudes. We all know how controversial dyno numbers can be. That's not what this thread is for. If you want to discuss the technical aspects of SAE numbers and such, please start a new thread - and please keep those discussions civil, leaving out the attitude when making a point.

Back on topic.
 
I agree with hairy, Mac's dyno aint that good, a guy told me thet he had his car dyno'd there and they straped it down to the rear swaybar that was broke (and they new it was broke) but did the run anyway and the car flew off the dyno. :notgood: :nono:
 
Just to toss this out there, Modern Garage doesn't have an AWD dyno any more, to the best of my knowledge. From what I understand, it was Cobb Tuning's DynoJet, which they've moved to their track shop at Miller Motorsports Park.

Cobb, of course, has AWD dynos since they deal with Subies.

Not sure if they still organize dyno days or events, but they have in the past.

Drop the Cobb guys a line to be sure, talk to Parker, he's awesome.
