- originally I had no plans to get this car I would ride by and see and one day I decided to stop by and check it out some young kid had basically destroyed it so I asked him what he wanted for it and said I'll take $800 best $800 ever it needs a lot of work and I've done a lot work on it The first day I brought it home I replaced the oil pan gasket RTV. chunks of metal all in the pan but surprisingly still had really good oil pressure so then I noticed it had no maf and I was thinking to myself how is it running which it was running rough so then I decided to cleaned up the interior mud everywhere took forever the smell was horrid and then I installed a oil pressure guage water temp and voltage I do this on every used car I buy all vitals was good i then had to rewire the radio it was a mess it left was right rear was front had a ground wire running to the strut mount I was thinking to myself this makes no sense so I got that all Fixed then I started on the ac I recovered the r12 replaced the receiver dryer and put r134a fittings on then I pulled vacuum on it 30 mins went by and I turned off vacuum thinking in my head it's not going hold but it held vacuum I was like a little boy on Christmas morning it blows ice cold air still i sit there and think to myself you surprise me more than anything you just won't die you ran with metal in your oil pan no mass air flow sensor spraying oil everywhere and a blown head gasket but you still freaking run a lot people swap their 1.8l for a 2.0l but after what this engine has gone through and still lives it deserves better and will get rebuilt and will stay in this car my #1 goal is restoring it
