This car came into a Dodge, Chrysler Jeep Ram dealership that I worked at for several years. It wouldn't start. I basically did everything in my power to take care of the customer because I saw how clean the car was. Once I was in the car I knew I had to have it no matter what (except unless of course I couldn't convince my wife.) We never could duplicate it but customer wanted a new fuel pump installed. It needed a clutch. After the fuel pump install he took it home. I offered to buy it but he shot me down. He was a retired Kodak chemist and it wasn't about money since he bought it brand new with a bonus check back in 1991. After a few months he contacted me and said it didn't start again and that he was considering selling. After 3 months of convincing my wife I got permission, haha. The car didn't start so it was difficult. I towed in home and one wiff of the interior told me the ECU caps leaked. I got an eprom ecu for it with higher temp caps and installed it. Started up first try. I have been in love with this car ever since. It has 44,500 original miles. It was completely stock. The car was stored winters and has no rust except on exhaust. It's completely frozen in time! I have all original documentation down to the window sticker and his receipt. I'm not sure many more 1ga's exist in this condition anymore which is kind of sad. I hope to make the car faster than my gixxer but retain all creature comforts and esthetics.
