- Background
- This vehicle was a real piece of crap when bought. Now it has run a bearing ive found a bunch of things to fix on the motor. One of the main reasons I found was a split turbo oil line return.
Im planning on rebuilding it to stock as I have a mortage now.
Im hoping the crank bearing journal isnt too scratched.
I will probably order OEM style parts from rockauto or similar as everything is expensive here
Hopefully august 2018 back on the road, and legal.
It is certed for the modifications
It struggles to get a warrant of fitness every 6months as the inspectors give me hell, eventually ill have to give up and leave it as a skidpig for track days.
Once built I want to look more at the Link G1 as I have purchased a tuning cable and was wondering how it all worked. ive done a little study on this and have realised my knock control doesnt appear to be on, timing is different to stock and theres probably alot more power gains from installing a wideband o2 sensor in the custom dump pipe.
The TD05 is a clone of the real thing, and probably has a tiny wastegate port I didnt measure it at the time.
The headers were bought for $100 and didnt even fit, had to be hammered in order to not hit the head. This probably helped melt the rocker cover gasket being very close.
The clutch is a custom one which is a little smaller than the 2G L300,Ive spent a little time in the junkyard getting non flattened leaf springs, better engine mounts and other things.
I tried a puck clutch but the cable action didnt disengage the clutch enough to drive so thats for later.
